Hey guys I landed in Venice yesterday morning around 3 am our time and it's been quite the adventure so far. Working off of two hours of sleep I managed to make it to the hotel in Mestre - Venice which is about a five minute ride from the airport. The hotel itself while small is quite quaint and beautiful. I'll be adding a photo or two of it in a few seconds. Regardless, Italy is awesome the Italian people are quite nice for the most part and most speak english, however I try to use italian to the best of my ability and this one woman at the train station yesterday pretty much shut me down when I tried to ask for a round trip ticket and told me to speak in english... guess I butchered it *sigh*. After a quick nap a few students who are also in the program and myself adventured first to an Italian trattoria where we got REAL ITALIAN PIZZA and I got some Perroni on draft (YAY ITALIAN BEER). From there we decided to take the train to St. Lucia - Venice which is where most people associate Venice with, this is where they have all of the water ways and gondola's etc. While there we got our first gelatto of the trip! I decided to get passion fruit to be a little daring and it was amazing and definitely didn't disappoint what so ever. Anyway that's it for now guys, I'll be heading to campus in about six hours (12:30 pm here) and from there I will be uploading the rest of my photos and add a new post about campus. Thanks for reading! Miss you all!

This is the front desk of the hotel we are staying at in Mestre, it's called Hotel Piave and it's relatively inexpensive and completely exceeded my expectations for like 25 Euro a night per person.
